CLUBWAKA Kicks Cancer brings together friends, teams, and the Hampton Roads community for a full day of kickball, grass volleyball, cornhole, fundraising, and celebration at Briarfield Park.
Choose from two kickball formats, our inaugural co-ed grass volleyball tournament, or our co-ed cornhole tournament, then stick around for the official after-party. Whether you’re looking for a traditional kickball tournament, a more laid-back day on the field, a full slate of volleyball, or a few rounds of cornhole with friends, there’s a way for everyone to be part of the event.
Proceeds from CLUBWAKA Kicks Cancer, along with funds raised through the Kick Cancer Challenge, benefit the Sentara Brock Cancer Center.

We’re offering four ways to take part in CLUBWAKA Kicks Cancer. Pick the format that fits your crew and join us for the cause.
THE MERRITT CUP(opens in new tab)
Our traditional kickball tournament format is a great fit for intermediate and advanced teams that want pool play, playoffs, and a chance to take home the Merritt Cup while still keeping the day fun and social.
Teams are guaranteed a minimum of three pool-play games before the top qualifiers advance to a single-elimination playoff bracket.
Best for: Teams looking for the full kickball tournament experience.
RECESS KICKBALL DIVISION(opens in new tab)
The Recess Division offers a more relaxed way to be part of CLUBWAKA Kicks Cancer, with three scheduled kickball games, a shorter time commitment, and a lower-pressure format.
It’s a great fit for casual teams, coworkers, newer players, friend groups, or anyone who wants to spend a few hours playing kickball and supporting the cause.
Best for: Teams looking for a laid-back, social day on the field.
GRASS VOLLEYBALL 6V6 TOURNAMENT

Take your team off the hardwood and onto the grass for our inaugural co-ed grass volleyball tournament. Teams will play a minimum of three pool-play matches before the top qualifiers advance to a single-elimination playoff bracket.
The tournament will feature one open division, with space for up to 16 teams. Captains can register a full team, while free agents and small groups are also welcome.
Best for: Volleyball players looking to bring their team together for a new tournament experience.
CORNHOLE TOURNAMENT

Grab a partner or a few friends and join our co-ed cornhole tournament. Teams of 2 to 4 players will compete in four pool-play games before the top finishers advance to a single-elimination playoff.
All skill levels are welcome, and players are encouraged to bring their own bags. Loaners will be available if needed.
Best for: Cornhole players of all skill levels looking for plenty of games, friendly competition, and a chance to take home the title.
Whichever format you choose, you’ll be part of the same CLUBWAKA Kicks Cancer community, raising funds, having fun, and supporting an important local cause.
THE KICK CANCER CHALLENGE
There’s more to CLUBWAKA Kicks Cancer than the games.
Participants can create a personal fundraising page, invite teammates to join their fundraising team, and rally friends, family, and coworkers behind the cause.
The top fundraising team will receive the CLUBWAKA Kicks Cancer Fundraising Championship Belt and a sponsor prize pack. Prize pack details will be announced soon.
The individual who raises the most will receive a free year of CLUBWAKA memberships, valid for up to four seasons.
