Founded in 1998, CLUBWAKA is the premier social sports and events community for adults in the US, offering the most fun and organized recreational co-ed sports leagues, social activities, and vacations. CLUBWAKA Hampton Roads is our dedicated branch, serving the sports and social needs of the Hampton Roads area. Internship Title:
Social Media & Sports Marketing Intern
Eligibility Criteria:
- Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program, with a focus on Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or a related field
- Strong understanding and active engagement on social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube)
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and capable of multitasking
- Creative, fun-loving, and enthusiastic about building community engagement
- Prior experience or coursework in digital marketing is a plus
- Must be 21+ years of age
- Must possess a phone with a high quality camera
Responsibilities:
- Assist in the creation and scheduling of content across all social media channels.
- Engage with our community on social platforms, responding to comments and messages in a timely and professional manner.
- Curate and post the best organic content sourced from within our leagues to showcase the essence of CLUBWAKA.
- Attend 1-2 league nights per week for firsthand content capture and community engagement.
- Collaborate with the team to brainstorm new promotional strategies and campaigns.
- Analyze social media analytics to measure the success of campaigns and refine strategy.
- Assist in organizing and promoting local CLUBWAKA events and games.
- Staff promotional tables at local events such as beer festivals, charity walks, or internal events to boost the club's visibility.
Measured Outcomes:
- Achieve a 15% increase in social media engagement over the internship period.
- Successfully increase the follower count on key social media platforms by a set target (to be discussed during the internship).
- Present a detailed end-of-term report outlining the success and learnings of all campaigns undertaken.
Timeline of Internship:
The Internship runs for 12-16 weeks with a commitment of 10-15 hours weekly.
Additional Relevant Information:
- This is a paid internship at $12 per hour.
- Interns can attend CLUBWAKA events, gaining hands-on experience in event promotion and management.
- Successful interns may be offered part-time or full-time roles within CLUBWAKA.
- While most tasks are remote, candidates must be available to meet in-person at our Newport News office once per week.
