They say it’s a marathon, not a sprint. Tia and Mark are a little fuzzy on the details of the gunshot going off at the start of the love race, but for good reason. “It was at the end of the Sunday Funday bar crawl so neither one of us remember.” Hey, at CLUBWAKA, don’t threaten us with a good time! But back to Tia and Mark. It was 2019 and it was during a tournament they spotted each other. But a year later — at that same tournament is where they really connected. “I made the first move after noticing Mark staring at me for what felt like forever! I said, “I know you!” And we got to talking!”
But as Cupid was passing the baton off to these two, there was just one little hiccup. It was a long-distance race. If absence makes the heart grow fonder, Tia & Mark would be able to test it out. She lived in Albuquerque and he in Denver. “I knew we had a future together after he came to visit me in Albuquerque in March 2020. That long-distance relationship didn’t last. She moved to Denver to be with him. Talk about winning the race! Like many of the other CLUBWAKA couples, the love game wasn’t part of the plan when joining a sports league. It was a bonus. As for advice, Tia says “make eye contact & just go with the flow! If you feel it, do it. Go for it.”
Great advice and thank you to Tia and Mark for sharing your love story.
